In a highly anticipated event, Samsung unveiled its latest technological marvels at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 in Brooklyn, New York. The spotlight was firmly on the Galaxy Z Fold7, a foldable smartphone that promises to redefine the category with its remarkably thin design and advanced features. Alongside the Fold7, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Flip7, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, and the Galaxy Watch8 series, each offering significant upgrades and innovations.

The Galaxy Z Fold7, priced at AUD$2,899, is set to become the new benchmark for foldable smartphones. Its slim profile and high-end specifications are designed to attract consumers who have hesitated due to the traditionally high cost of entry. The Fold7’s dimensions, when folded, are comparable to a standard candybar-style phone, offering enhanced portability and convenience.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7: A New Standard in Foldables

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is the latest in the company’s line of premium foldable smartphones. Its standout feature is its extremely slim build, which makes it comparable to traditional smartphones when folded. This innovation is paired with enhanced camera capabilities and a suite of AI-powered features, making it a formidable contender in the market.

The Fold7 boasts the largest screens ever seen in the Fold line, with an 8.0-inch internal display and a 6.5-inch external screen. This is a significant upgrade from the Fold6, which featured 7.6-inch and 6.3-inch displays. The device is also lighter, weighing just 215 grams, and has reduced its thickness from 12.1 mm to 8.9 mm when folded.

Running on Samsung’s new One UI 8 operating system, the Fold7 offers an AI-powered platform that enhances multitasking capabilities. The OS intelligently responds to user inputs, whether typed, spoken, or viewed, enabling complex tasks such as real-time language translation and generative photo edits.

The Fold7’s camera system includes a 200.0 MP wide-angle lens, capturing four times the detail of its predecessor.

Available for pre-order, the Galaxy Z Fold7 launches on August 1st, 2025, in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, and Jet-black, with an online-exclusive Mint option. It offers three memory and storage configurations, with the top model priced at AUD$3,549, discounted to AUD$3,349 for pre-orders.

Galaxy Z Flip7 and Flip7 FE: Accessible Innovations

The Galaxy Z Flip7, known for its accessibility, returns with a range of upgrades, including a new cover screen and a slimmer build. The Flip7’s 4.1-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow is now edge-to-edge, a feature reminiscent of the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra. This update, although delayed compared to competitors, enhances the device’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Samsung’s One UI 8 OS powers the Flip7, offering a personalized user experience with features like interactive wallpapers and real-time filters. The Flip7’s camera system includes a 50MP Wide and a 12MP Ultra-Wide lens, promising flagship-level clarity even in low-light conditions.

The Flip7 is available in Blue Shadow, Jetblack, and Coralred, with Mint as an online exclusive. Prices start at AUD$1,799 for the 256GB model, with pre-order discounts available.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE offers an entry-level option for those new to foldables. It features a 6.7-inch main display and a 50MP FlexCam, priced at AUD$1,499 for the 128GB model.

Galaxy Watch8 Series: Wearable Excellence

Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Watch8 series, including the Galaxy Watch8, Galaxy Watch8 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra. These wearables cater to both fitness enthusiasts and those seeking convenient smartphone alternatives.

The Galaxy Watch8, available in 40 mm and 44 mm sizes, is designed for everyday wellness, with a minimalist design in Graphite or Silver. The Watch8 Classic, featuring a rotating bezel, offers a more traditional watch style, while the Galaxy Watch Ultra boasts the longest battery life and robust performance in the lineup.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra is Samsung’s “most advanced Galaxy Watch model yet,” priced at AUD$1,299.

As Samsung continues to push the boundaries of innovation, the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event underscores the company’s commitment to leading the foldable and wearable markets. With these new products, Samsung aims to set new standards in technology and user experience.

As the launch date approaches, consumers and tech enthusiasts alike eagerly await the opportunity to experience these groundbreaking devices firsthand.
