Samsung Australia has announced the launch of The Premiere 5 (LPF5D), the company’s first interactive triple-laser ultra-short-throw projector, setting a new benchmark in home entertainment. Priced at $2,999, The Premiere 5 is now available through Samsung’s Online Store and major retailers such as Harvey Norman.

The Premiere 5 is designed to transform ordinary spaces into immersive content environments, offering up to 100 inches of cinematic viewing. This innovative projector introduces interactive touch floor projection capabilities, allowing users to engage with content in a whole new way.

Innovative Features and Design

The Premiere 5 is not just about size; its compact and stylish design makes it easy to integrate into any home setting. It offers seamless smartphone integration, enabling users to mirror content from their devices via SmartThings or Apple AirPlay 2. This feature allows families to enjoy a larger-than-life viewing experience effortlessly.

Equipped with an infrared camera and laser module, The Premiere 5 can turn any surface it projects onto into an interactive touch screen. This functionality supports a range of activities, from gaming to educational purposes, making it a versatile addition to any household.

Advanced Projection Technology

At the core of The Premiere 5 is Samsung’s Triple Laser Technology, which ensures a vivid color palette and high contrast, maintaining clarity even in well-lit rooms. The projector’s Vision Booster feature automatically adjusts color, contrast, and brightness based on ambient light, ensuring optimal viewing conditions.

Its ultra-short-throw design allows The Premiere 5 to project large images from just 12 centimeters away from the wall, maximizing space efficiency without compromising on impact.

Audio-Visual Excellence

The Premiere 5 is not just about visuals; it also boasts an integrated sound system with Q-Symphony, Active Voice Amplifier Pro, and Adaptive Sound Pro. This 10W 2-channel speaker system delivers immersive audio, negating the need for external speakers and enhancing the cinematic experience.

Furthermore, The Premiere 5 can function as a standalone wireless speaker, playing music via Bluetooth, AirPlay, or music casting when the screen is not in use.

Content and Connectivity

Samsung’s Smart Hub provides access to over 300 free channels, including Samsung TV Plus, offering endless entertainment options. For gaming enthusiasts, the Gaming Hub provides instant access to popular platforms and services, ensuring low latency and smooth performance.

The projector also features a Custom Ambient Mode, using its Projecting Mapping Solution to project dynamic images, setting the mood or ambiance of a space. Its auto keystone and auto-focus features simplify setup, whether for gaming, watching, or working.

Seamless Integration and Future Prospects

The Premiere 5 integrates seamlessly with Samsung and third-party devices through SmartThings, allowing users to manage their smart home ecosystem effortlessly. This includes monitoring electricity usage, controlling lighting, and viewing home cameras, enhancing convenience and security.

Simon Howe, Director of Audio Visual at Samsung Australia, emphasized the projector’s user-centric design, stating,

“The Premiere 5 is designed to go beyond content to deliver immersive, engaging, and memorable experiences that bring people together or support productivity in new ways.”

Joining Samsung’s 2025 projector lineup, The Premiere 5 is part of a broader strategy to redefine home entertainment, alongside models like The Premiere 7, Premiere 9, and The Freestyle.
