Ram Charan and Jr NTR have been making headlines for their film ‘RRR’ and their onscreen bromance, but not many people know about their real-life family rivalry.
The ‘RRR’ stars, who are close friends in real life, recently spoke about the three-decade-long rivalry between their families in an interview with an international media outlet.
Jr NTR and Ram Charan both come from legacy families. Jr NTR is carrying forward the legacy of his father, NT Rama Rao, who is a famous veteran actor-turned-politician. Whereas, Ram Charan is the son of the Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi.
Fans of the blockbuster film were surprised to see the amazing on-screen friendship between the two stars as the rivalry between their families is not a secret.
Speaking to LA Times, Ram Charan mentioned that he and Jr NTR were tired of the rivalry news and just wanted to be friends.
“The whole concept of having a rivalry brought us together. The only path we could take was friendship because we were bored of [the] news of rivalry for more than three decades,” Ram Charan told the American publication.
Jr NTR, who’s fondly addressed as Tarak, spoke about his camaraderie with Charan saying “It’s simple physics, opposite poles attract. Charan gets attracted to what he doesn’t have in him. And I get attracted to what I don’t attain in myself, so we look up to each other. It’s a support system. We complement each other, and we can share a few secrets that will never get out.”
