Star Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah made a surprise return to India from Sri Lanka during the Asia Cup 2023, citing personal reasons. Initially, the 29-year-old did not disclose the cause behind his sudden departure. However, Bumrah recently took to Instagram to share some exciting news with his fans, shedding light on the matter.

In a heartwarming post, Bumrah announced the arrival of his first child, a baby boy, to the world. Accompanied by a delightful picture, the Indian pacer and his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, joyfully shared the news with their followers.

“Our little family has grown, and our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! This morning, we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah, into the world. We are over the moon and can’t wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it, Jasprit and Sanjana,” Bumrah captioned the post.

Bumrah was a member of the Indian squad that faced off against arch-rivals Pakistan on Saturday. He had a brief stint on the field, playing 14 balls and scoring 16 runs. However, much to everyone’s disappointment, he did not get the opportunity to bowl due to heavy rain, which prevented Pakistan from batting. Consequently, the match was abandoned, and both teams were awarded a point each.

This match marked Bumrah’s return to international cricket after nearly a year of recovering from a back stress fracture. The Mumbai Indians pacer’s comeback was eagerly anticipated by fans and cricket enthusiasts alike.

In Group A, Pakistan secured their spot in the Super Four stage with three points, having defeated Nepal and experienced a washout against their arch-rivals, India. Now, for India (with one point) and Nepal (with zero points), winning this match is crucial to qualify for the Super Four stage.
