NVIDIA has officially rolled out its DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution technology to all NVIDIA App users, introducing a suite of new features that promise to significantly enhance image fidelity. This update, which follows NVIDIA’s announcement at CES last week, marks a major milestone for the company as it continues to push the boundaries of gaming graphics.
The latest update to the NVIDIA App brings DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution support, leveraging the newest RTX Super Resolution Model to improve image quality. The technology, which is now out of BETA, includes two major updates: increased image fidelity with the 2nd Gen Transformer model and Multi-frame generation (MFG) support of up to 6x. This development is set to transform the gaming experience for users worldwide.
Key Features and Compatibility
For current users of the NVIDIA App, the update will be rolled out automatically. Those eager to manually install the update can do so via the official link. The 2nd Gen Transformer model, which is five times more compute-intensive, is compatible with all RTX GPUs, including the RTX 20, RTX 30, RTX 40, and RTX 50 series.
Initial tests of the new NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Presets M and L have shown a significant reduction in ghosting, coupled with sharper and enhanced image quality. According to NVIDIA, DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution will be supported by over 400 games and applications, allowing users to achieve optimal image quality in both new and older titles.
“The technology works best on RTX 50 and RTX 40 GPUs with upgraded Tensor Cores and FP4 support, offering a cutting-edge gaming experience,” NVIDIA stated.
New Features in NVIDIA App v11.0.6
In addition to DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, the NVIDIA App update to version 11.0.6 introduces several new features aimed at enhancing user experience. These include:
- Integration of remaining NVIDIA Surround settings into the System > Displays section, with options for bezel correction and hotkeys.
- Improved visibility for laptop users with Advanced Optimus, now displaying full application names blocking feature activation.
- A new “Debug Mode” in System > Advanced, which disables all overclocking and voltage tweaks to help diagnose system instability.
- An advanced “Developer” option for profiling and debugging tools, which most users can leave unchanged.
Expanding Game Support
Meanwhile, NVIDIA has announced the addition of two new RTX titles that will benefit from DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution:
LET IT DIE: INFERNO
Developed by SUPERTRICK GAMES and GungHo Online Entertainment, this rogue-lite survival action game takes the LET IT DIE series into a new era. The latest update, launching today, incorporates DLSS Super Resolution, enhancing performance for GeForce RTX gamers.
StarRupture
Creepy Jar’s StarRupture, an Early Access first-person open-world base-building game, launched with day one support for DLSS Super Resolution and DLSS Frame Generation. Users can further enhance image quality with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, maximizing fidelity with DLAA and activating DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs.
Looking Ahead
The introduction of DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution marks a significant advancement in gaming technology, offering gamers unprecedented image quality and performance. As NVIDIA continues to innovate, the upcoming Spring update promises to bring MFG 6x mode support, further enhancing the capabilities of the NVIDIA App.
With these developments, NVIDIA solidifies its position as a leader in the gaming industry, setting new standards for visual excellence and technological innovation.
