From September 7 to 9, 2025, Mipel will return to Pavilions 1 and 3 of Fiera Milano-Rho, coinciding with Micam Milano. This year marks the 128th edition of the renowned leather goods trade show, which will take place earlier than usual due to preparations for the 2026 Winter Olympics. This shift in schedule is a temporary measure, with the event set to return to its regular calendar in February 2026.
Organized by Assopellettieri with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), ITA-Italian Trade Agency, and the Municipality of Milan, Mipel remains a pivotal event for the leather goods and fashion accessories industry. With over 60 years of history, the show serves as a hub for trends, inspiration, and business opportunities, featuring over 200 brands showcasing their Spring/Summer 2026 collections.
Adapting to Change and Embracing Opportunities
The decision to advance the event dates was driven by the necessary renovations at the exhibition center in preparation for the upcoming Winter Olympics. Despite this disruption, Mipel continues to uphold its status as an international benchmark, attracting a diverse array of exhibitors and visitors from around the world.
This edition will benefit from the ITA-Italian Trade Agency’s support, particularly through the international buyers incoming project. This initiative will bring 23 selected professional operators from ten countries to the show, enhancing its global reach and providing exhibitors with greater business opportunities.
Innovative Exhibits and Interactive Experiences
Beyond the traditional exhibits, Mipel will feature special projects and areas designed to promote the sector and offer an immersive experience. The return of Mipel Factory in Pavilion 3 promises to be a highlight, providing a hands-on workshop where visitors can witness the fusion of artisan excellence and cutting-edge technology.
In collaboration with Arsutoria and leading companies in leather goods technology, Mipel Factory will showcase live demonstrations of small leather goods production using state-of-the-art machinery equipped with automatic vision systems and artificial intelligence.
Spotlight on Emerging Talent and Global Trends
The Italian Startup Project will spotlight promising young Italian brands known for their creativity and market-ready products. Meanwhile, Showcase Milano will feature a curated selection of fashion and design companies celebrated for their innovative approaches and distinctive styles.
The international dimension of Mipel is further emphasized through its partnership with Viamadeinitaly, a digital platform connecting over 24,000 buyers with Italian manufacturers. This collaboration offers exhibitors an exclusive digital showcase, enhancing their internationalization and digitalization efforts.
Global Perspectives and Industry Insights
The Eastern Edge, located in Pavilion 3 and a section of Pavilion 5, will host companies from emerging markets such as India, China, and Pakistan. These exhibitors, alongside participants from over 18 countries, will provide a comprehensive view of global trends and developments within the leather goods sector.
“Mipel is a strategic moment for the entire leather goods supply chain. In a complex phase for the sector, it is essential to maintain solid reference points and continue to create spaces for openness, discussion, and business opportunities, especially in support of the small and medium-sized enterprises that form the backbone of the sector,” commented Claudia Sequi, president of Mipel and Assopellettieri.
Sequi further emphasized the importance of the event in showcasing craftsmanship, supporting innovation, and promoting the competitiveness of Italian companies on international markets.
Looking Ahead
As Mipel prepares to welcome thousands of visitors and exhibitors, the event underscores its commitment to fostering industry growth and adaptation in the face of global challenges. The upcoming edition promises to be a vibrant celebration of creativity, innovation, and international collaboration, setting the stage for future advancements in the leather goods industry.
