SINGAPORE – In a groundbreaking move for the gaming industry, Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) has launched its fourth season, marking its first-ever collaboration with the iconic fighting franchise, THE KING OF FIGHTERS (KOF). This collaboration introduces a new dimension to the game, featuring eight themed commander skins, two new synergies, and a KOF-inspired chessboard skin. The update also heralds the start of the GO1 World Championship, MCGG’s inaugural international tournament, further cementing its commitment to enhancing the global esports landscape.
Developed by MOONTON Games, the new season of MCGG is a testament to the company’s dedication to creating engaging and immersive gaming experiences. The collaboration with KOF is not only a first for MCGG but also a significant step in merging the worlds of strategy and combat, offering players a fresh approach to gameplay.
Don Your Fighter Gear in Season 4
The collaboration between MCGG and KOF brings a unique flavor to the battlefield with eight new KOF-themed commander skins. Players can now command Aurora as “Kula Diamond,” Chou as “Iori Yagami,” Dyrroth as “Chris,” and several other iconic characters. This partnership introduces two exclusive synergies, KOF and Mortal Rivals, along with a limited-time chessboard skin, enhancing the visual and strategic elements of the game.
Additionally, the Destined Duel event allows players to earn up to 70 Leona Draw Tokens, KOF Deploy Effects, and the Johnson “Death Chariot” skin. Set against a retro arcade-inspired interface, this event immerses players in the classic fighting spirit of KOF. The Promo Diamonds event further enriches the gaming experience by offering generous discounts on in-game items, encouraging players to engage more deeply with the game.
“Working with KOF is a huge step for MCGG, and we’re especially excited since it’s our first collaboration,” said Gao “Skyhook” Chong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games. “This is not just a crossover—it’s an expansion of our IP and a showcase of how our game can grow beyond auto chess while keeping strategic gameplay at its core.”
Outfight, Outsmart, Dominate the Chessboard
The introduction of Commander Power Cards adds a new layer of strategy to MCGG. Each commander now has unique powers, allowing players to experiment with different combinations and strategies. This feature rewards bold strategy and skill, as players must choose the right cards at the right time to dominate the chessboard.
The new Arena Mode offers unlimited time in the preparation round, enabling players to build their ultimate lineup. This mode features an exclusive ranking system based on Arena Trophies, challenging players to climb the leaderboard and prove their mettle. The high-stakes Betting Mechanism adds an extra layer of excitement, offering massive rewards for those willing to take risks.
Fight to Become the First MCGG World Champion
Season 4 of MCGG also marks the return of the MCGG Rising Star (MRS), providing 14 direct slots to the upcoming GO1 World Championship. Scheduled to take place alongside the M7 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia, in January 2026, this event will transform Indonesia into a global esports stage. MCGG will join Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) in uniting top teams, players, and fans from around the world.
MCGG’s inclusive gameplay allows any player to compete at the highest level, embodying the game’s vision of democratizing esports. The game will make history at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand, as the first mobile auto chess game to feature in the regional sporting event. A demonstration match on December 12 will open the Games, offering players the chance to showcase their strategies and rise as champions.
Chong added, “We’re incredibly proud that MCGG has reached international sporting stages, standing alongside both esports and traditional sports. Our goal has always been to empower everyday players through the game, and we’re excited to see our vision come to life on these big stages.”
