In a competitive night for television ratings on Thursday, Love Island emerged as a leader in its timeslot, attracting 388,000 viewers nationally. The reality show managed to outpace several rivals, despite a brief overlap with Grand Designs Australia, which also performed well. Meanwhile, Gogglebox wrapped up its season with a solid finale, drawing 535,000 viewers.

The evening’s entertainment lineup was spearheaded by Home & Away, which captivated audiences with a combined national TV audience of 817,000 across its triple play at 7:00 PM. Following closely was 7:30 with 699,000 viewers, and RBT with 587,000.

National Ratings Overview

The ratings battle saw Seven News claim the top spot overall with 1.22 million viewers, followed by Nine News at 1.16 million. A Current Affair also performed strongly, securing 927,000 viewers.

Elsewhere in the lineup, Tipping Point managed to engage 671,000 viewers, suggesting a steady interest despite being a repeat episode. ABC News drew 855,000, showcasing the public broadcaster’s consistent audience base.

Entertainment Highlights

In the entertainment sector, Jim Jefferies & Friends attracted 331,000 viewers, while Long Lost Family and The Celebrity Traitors followed with 309,000 and 263,000 viewers, respectively. From That Small Island: The Irish Story rounded out the list with 164,000 viewers.

Meanwhile, Grand Designs Australia continued its strong performance with 559,000 viewers, demonstrating the enduring appeal of architectural and design programs.

Network News and Analysis

On the news front, 10 News captured 276,000 viewers, while Deal or No Deal and Law & Order: SVU secured 231,000 and 131,000 viewers, respectively. The future of 10 News+ was also a topic of interest, drawing 126,000 viewers as discussions about its direction continue.

For SBS, the evening’s lineup included SBS World News with 160,000 viewers, followed by Blue Lights and Mastermind with 101,000 and 96,000 viewers, respectively. However, Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain struggled to capture a significant audience, drawing only 89,000 viewers at 7:30 PM.

Morning Show Dynamics

In the morning show segment, The Morning Show attracted 232,000 viewers in its first hour, dropping to 154,000 in the second. Today Extra managed to engage 168,000 viewers initially, with a decrease to 118,000 in the latter half.
