America’s first motorcycle company is now 100 years old. And on its centenary, the Indian Motorcycle has launched the 2022 line-up of its famed Chief motorcycles in India. The swash-buckling, heavy-duty cruiser bike range starts from Rs 20.75 lakh (ex-Showroom price).

The launch saw the unveiling of the complete 2020 Chief line-up which consists of Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse, Chief Dark Horse and Indian Super Chief Limited models.

As per the company statement, all the motorcycles are based on a “timeless, simplistic steel-tube frame and powered by Indian Motorcycle’s powerful Thunderstroke motor,” further mentioning that the three models offer “three unique takes on the classic American V-twin, each appealing to a slightly different rider.”

“The all-new Indian #SuperChief offers a minimalistic design with added comfort and convenience, begging riders for longer miles and even bolder escapes. Take it to the next level with our Touring collection of accessories

The 2022 Chief range comes with a 15.1-litre fuel tank, bobbed rear fender, dual exhaust, LED lighting, dual outboard preload-adjustable rear shocks, Pirelli Night Dragon tires and keyless ignition.

The bikes boast features like cruise control, and riders have three throttle options: sport, standard or tour. ABS comes standard and the bike looks stunning with premium workmanship and fine-crafter finishing.

The bikes feature a short wheelbase (1626 mm), a low height seat (662 mm) and have a low wet weight (304 kg). The bikes are famed for their comfort and ergonomics fit for long tireless rides.

The 2022 Chief line-up motorcycles get their thrust from the Indian Motorcycle’s Thunderstroke 116 engine with a capacity of 1890cc and torque of 162 Nm.

The Chief and Chief Bobber Dark Horse variants come in glossy black finish, while the Super Chief Limited features chrome finishing.
