A new concert series featuring some of Australia’s biggest musical acts is set to illuminate Hobart’s Wrest Point this November, marking the city’s first event of its kind. Night at The Point will transform the waterfront lawns of Wrest Point into an open-air concert venue overlooking the River Derwent across three evenings from November 7-9.
The festival will showcase performances by rock musician Jon Stevens, electronic act PNAU, and multi-platinum selling artist Delta Goodrem. “I’m beyond excited to be returning to Hobart after 20 years – and what a way to come back,” said Delta Goodrem. “Performing at Night at the Point, surrounded by the energy of this incredible city and its people, is really special. The Tassie locals have always been so warm and welcoming, and I can’t wait to share this night of music and memories with everyone.”
Expanding the ‘Night at the’ Series
The concert series is being brought to Hobart by the team behind Sydney’s Night at The Barracks and Brisbane’s Night at The Parkland events, in partnership with Federal Group. Cameron Coghlan, co-founder of event company Second Sunday, expressed enthusiasm about expanding the ‘Night at the’ series to Tasmania. “Hobart is set to wow the crowd with a stellar lineup of premium arts and musical performances,” he said.
“Wrest Point offers the perfect backdrop for unforgettable nights of musical excellence and nostalgia,” Coghlan added. Organizers are promising a premium experience including elevated food and beverage offerings, state-of-the-art sound and lighting, and expansive video screens.
Historical Context and Venue Legacy
Wrest Point has long been a cornerstone of entertainment in Tasmania. Linda Collis, General Manager of Wrest Point, emphasized the venue’s legacy of bringing quality entertainment to the region. “A Night at The Point is a continuation of that story for us as we expand and showcase Tasmania as a world-class destination for live entertainment – set against one of the state’s most iconic backdrops,” Collis said.
The announcement comes as Hobart continues to establish itself as a vibrant cultural hub. The city has seen a surge in tourism and local engagement with events like MONA FOMA and the Taste of Tasmania festival, both of which have contributed to its growing reputation as a destination for arts and culture.
Event Lineup and Expectations
The concert series kicks off with Jon Stevens on Friday, November 7, followed by PNAU on Saturday, November 8, and concludes with Delta Goodrem on Sunday, November 9. Each artist brings a unique style and fan base, promising a diverse musical experience for attendees.

Looking Forward
As Hobart prepares to host this inaugural festival, the success of Night at The Point could pave the way for future events of similar scale and ambition. The collaboration between local and national event organizers highlights the potential for Tasmania to host large-scale cultural events that attract diverse audiences.
With the festival just weeks away, anticipation is building, and all eyes are on Hobart to deliver an unforgettable series of performances. As the city continues to grow its reputation as a cultural and entertainment hub, Night at The Point represents a significant step forward in showcasing what Tasmania has to offer.
