Good Charlotte will launch their world tour in Perth in February 2026.

In a move reminiscent of R.E.M.’s groundbreaking 1995 tour launch and Kylie Minogue’s recent February kickoff, American punk rock band Good Charlotte is set to begin their highly anticipated world tour in Perth, Australia, in February 2026. The tour, titled the “Motel Du Cap World Tour,” marks the band’s return to the Australian stage after an eight-year hiatus. The tour will commence at the RAC Arena on February 17.

Fronted by the dynamic twin brothers Joel and Benji Madden, Good Charlotte will follow their Perth debut with performances in Brisbane, Bendigo, Sydney, and Auckland. Australian fans will have the unique opportunity to be among the first to experience the band’s eighth studio album, which was released in August, live in concert.

“Australia is such a special place to Good Charlotte and to me personally, it feels like a home away from home in many ways, and we can’t wait to head back there for some big shows,” Joel Madden expressed with enthusiasm. “It’s been far too long since we’ve spent time with our Aussie fans, we’re all in for a big treat.”

Good Charlotte’s Enduring Appeal

Good Charlotte’s return is supported by American alternative rock band Yellowcard and Australia’s own Kisschasy, ensuring a robust lineup for concertgoers. The band’s success in Australia is well-documented, with six albums breaking into the ARIA top 25 and 12 singles reaching the ARIA top 40. This level of success underscores their strong connection with Australian audiences.

The band’s relationship with Australia was further solidified when Joel Madden served as a judge on “The Voice Australia” in 2015, with Benji joining him the following year. This exposure helped to deepen their fan base and maintain their relevance in the music industry.

A Nostalgic Return

Known for their anthemic hits from the 2000s, such as “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” and “I Just Wanna Live,” Good Charlotte’s return to the stage follows a period of hiatus during which the band members pursued various personal and professional projects. Despite this break, the band promises to deliver a setlist filled with nostalgic tunes that will delight long-time fans.

In recent years, Good Charlotte’s music has evolved to embrace themes of family and contentment, moving away from the underdog image that initially defined their career. Joel Madden, who shares two children with fashion designer Nicole Richie, and Benji Madden, who shares two children with actress Cameron Diaz, have hinted that their families may accompany them on the tour.

Looking Ahead

The touring ensemble includes Paul Thomas on bass and Billy Martin on guitar and keyboards, complementing Joel Madden as the lead vocalist and Benji Madden on guitar and backup vocals. As of now, Good Charlotte has not announced any additional global tour dates, leaving fans around the world eagerly anticipating further announcements.

Good Charlotte’s 2026 Australia and New Zealand tour dates:

  • February 17 — RAC Arena, Perth
  • February 19 — Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Brisbane
  • February 21 — Bendigo Racecourse, Bendigo
  • February 25 — Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney
  • February 27 — Auckland Domain, Auckland

The announcement of the tour comes as a significant moment for the band, representing both a return to their roots and a step forward into new musical territories. Fans can look forward to a blend of classic hits and fresh tracks, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees.
