An eight-year-old from Perth’s North has dedicated his young life to tracking down his celebrity heroes and sharing photos with them.
In a world where celebrity encounters are often reserved for the fortunate few, eight-year-old Noah Gianotti from Yokine, Australia, has turned his passion for meeting famous figures into an impressive hobby. Known for his dedication to tracking down his celebrity heroes, Noah has amassed an enviable collection of photographs with some of the biggest names in music and sports.
Noah’s journey into the world of celebrity began with a simple desire to create personal memories rather than just being a spectator. His Instagram account, @noahgmeets, managed by his parents, showcases his interactions with stars like Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, WWE legend The Undertaker, and English soccer player Harry Kane.
A Passion for Personal Interaction
Growing up surrounded by rap and hip hop music, Noah’s interest in celebrities extends beyond attending concerts or sporting events. For him, the thrill lies in the personal interaction. “I just like having the memories of waiting for them and just seeing if they’ll come and say hi, and sign an autograph,” he told PerthNow.
His most recent encounter was with UK rapper Central Cee at Perth Airport in early July. The rapper took the time to sign an album cover and pose for a photo with Noah, who even recited some of his favorite verses. “I actually started crying after, because I’m a big fan of him,” Noah admitted, highlighting the emotional impact of these meetings.
From Local Stars to Global Icons
Noah’s father explained that his son’s fascination with music stars evolved from simply playing their songs at home to a determination to meet them face-to-face. One of Noah’s most memorable encounters was with global sensation Post Malone in Perth last year. Armed with a toy guitar, Noah asked the star to smash it, mirroring Malone’s on-stage antics. A video of this interaction went viral on TikTok, garnering five million views and a heartwarming response from the singer.
Noah’s patience and determination are evident in his efforts to meet elusive celebrities. In February, he waited 15 hours to secure a meet and greet with rapper Drake. “We went to stand outside the front of Nobu at lunchtime,” recalled Mr. Gianotti, “and because Noah had spoken to some of Drake’s crew, when Drake went in, I’m pretty sure they said on the way out to please talk to the kid who spoke to us yesterday.”
“Sure enough, the Canadian rapper extended just a minute to the youngster in a memory that will last a lifetime.”
The Challenges of Celebrity Hunting
Despite his successes, Noah’s efforts do not always yield results. Coldplay and internet celebrity IShowSpeed are among those who have eluded him. Yet, when asked if he would try again, Noah confidently replied, “Yeah, of course I will.”
Noah’s celebrity pursuits have also extended to sports, where he has met local footy players and international stars alike. His father’s company, J&N Sports Entertainment, often hosts sports functions, providing Noah with opportunities to meet athletes like Harley Reid, Caleb Serong, and Luke Jackson.
His admiration for Fremantle Dockers star Michael Frederick began unexpectedly. “I didn’t know him when I went to a game, and then he must have kicked three or four goals and I thought, ‘Who is he?’ Then I found out his name was Michael Frederick and I’ve just loved him ever since,” Noah recounted.
A Future in the Spotlight?
As Noah continues to build his impressive portfolio of celebrity encounters, his future aspirations remain grounded. He expressed an interest in working with a sports team, potentially in a media capacity. With his growing experience and confidence, few would bet against him achieving his dreams.
