‘Euphoria’ stars share tributes to Angus Cloud: ‘Forever family’

Cloud’s family announced this week that he died unexpectedly at 25.

Sydney Sweeney posted a series of photos and videos with Cloud on Instagram, adding that her message was “the hardest thing” she’s “ever had to post,” and emphasizing that she’s “struggling to find all the words.”

“Angus you were an open soul, with the kindest heart, and you filled every room with laughter,” Sweeney wrote. “You will be missed more than you know, but I’m so blessed to have known you in this lifetime, and I’m sure everyone who has ever met you feels the same. This heartache is real and I wish we could’ve had one more hug and 711 run. All my love is with you.”

Javon “Wanna” Walton, who played Ashtray, the younger brother of Cloud’s Euphoria character, Fezco, shared a photo of the two actors embracing with the caption “rest easy brother.” He also posted a photo on his Instagram story with Cloud, captioned “forever family.”

Storm Reid wrote that “the tears just won’t stop” over a heartwarming clip of Cloud and costar Maude Apatow on her Instagram story. Later, Reid posted a photo of a colorful sunset on her story, writing, “angus made the sky look so pretty last night.”

“What a tremendous loss for so many of us,” Reid wrote. “Can’t seem to wrap my mind around it. and even though the tears will continue to fall seeing pictures of his smile or funny snippets that made me giggle bring me comfort.”

She added, “Hug on your people and tell them you love them. call them. pop up on em. send them your current song…just don’t take anything for granted life is so precious.”

Zendaya also highlighted Cloud’s joyful spirit, writing on Instagram, “I know people use this expression often when talking about folks they love…’they could light up any room they entered’ but boy let me tell you, he was the best at it. I’d like to remember him that way.”

She also wrote, “Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor). I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it).”

Meanwhile, series creator Sam Levinson shared a statement with EW: “There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family.”

Euphoria‘s official Twitter account also released a statement that said, “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
