If you’ve been holding off on updating your home due to high prices, long wait times, or the hassle of visiting multiple stores, a new furniture superstore in South Australia might just change the game. The Wholesale Furniture Co., Australia’s largest furniture wholesaler, has inaugurated its first-ever superstore in South Australia, located on Port Road, Woodville Park. This new venture brings genuine wholesale pricing and a vast array of quality furniture pieces directly to the public.
The Adelaide launch is spearheaded by Troy Fiegert and his business partner Rob Cummings. Their previous wholesale operation, Dixie Cummings, was once the largest furniture wholesaler in Australia, supplying major national retailers for over 30 years. Now, they have transformed their buying power into a consumer-focused business, offering a one-stop superstore designed to make home furnishing faster, cheaper, and less complicated.
“We’ve come straight out of wholesale,” Fiegert explains. “So our buying price is lower than anyone else’s. That’s what allows us to operate on a lower margin and turn over more volume — and that’s how customers get the benefit.”
A New Shopping Experience
The difference is immediately noticeable. Unlike traditional furniture retailers that rely on catalogues and long lead times, The Wholesale Furniture Co. operates from an 8,000-square-metre warehouse fully stocked with thousands of items ready for immediate delivery. The store offers a wide range of products, including fabric, leather, and corner lounge suites, chaise lounges, recliners, swivel and accent chairs, and complete bedroom setups with bed frames, mattresses, bedside tables, tallboys, and dressers. The dining section features everything from dining tables and chairs to bar stools, while living areas are anchored by coffee tables, lamp tables, TV units, and buffets, all displayed in a true furniture superstore format.
Many of the pieces mirror products sold elsewhere for significantly higher prices, often from the same manufacturers. The key difference is the absence of a retail markup. Fiegert is confident in the store’s pricing strategy, offering to beat any like-for-like product by 15%.
“For example, a four-seater fabric lounge that typically retails close to $2800 is priced at $1799 with us,” he says. “Same manufacturer, same fabric, same build — just without the markup.”
Quality Without Compromise
Quality has not been sacrificed for affordability. The furniture available at The Wholesale Furniture Co. is comparable to what you would find at major national retailers. It is not flat-pack, disposable furniture but rather good-quality pieces without the inflated price.
Just five weeks into its retail debut, The Wholesale Furniture Co. is already gaining momentum, with plans for a second, larger store in Parafield set to open early next year. This expansion aims to make affordable, high-quality furniture more accessible to Adelaide’s northern suburbs.
Perfect Timing for Holiday Shoppers
The timing of the store’s opening couldn’t be more opportune. With the Christmas break approaching and more time spent at home, many are considering replacing tired sofas or outdated dining sets. The Woodville Park store is preparing for a major Boxing Day sale, offering storewide savings of up to 70% off the recommended retail price, along with exclusive Boxing Day promotions.
For Adelaide shoppers accustomed to choosing between price, quality, and availability, The Wholesale Furniture Co. offers all three. Well-made furniture, genuinely wholesale pricing, and stock that’s ready to go.
