Expert cleaner Jessica Gaddes has made a name for herself by embracing simplicity and affordability in her cleaning practices. Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Gaddes emphasized her preference for cost-effective solutions, opting for budget-friendly tools from Kmart to tackle household chores. Her approach is a refreshing contrast to the overwhelming array of expensive cleaning gadgets flooding the market today.

In an era where cleaning technology ranges from robot vacuums to industrial-grade machines, it is easy to feel pressured into purchasing every new product advertised on social media. However, Gaddes, who operates Chance2Change Cleaning in Sydney, has found her go-to tools at Kmart, a retailer known for its budget-friendly offerings.

Jessica’s Top Kmart Cleaning Tool

Among her arsenal, Jessica’s standout choice is Kmart’s $39 electric Long Handled Cleaning Brush. Previously equipped with four different-sized heads for various cleaning tasks, the tool has recently been upgraded, much to Jessica’s delight. “The costs involved in a small business are astronomical,” she explained. “It’s too much to pay $200 for a Ryobi scrubber that doesn’t even do what you want it to do.”

Jessica finds the Kmart scrubber ideal for deep cleaning bathrooms and kitchens. “The big round one is great for floors, and the pointy one is good for the corners of showers,” she said. “Instead of getting down on your hands and knees, you can use this, dislodge stuff, and then use a microfibre cloth.”

Major Upgrade to a Trusted Tool

On a recent shopping trip, Jessica discovered that her favorite cleaning brush had been upgraded to include four new heads. Sharing her excitement in a TikTok video, she noted, “I actually have two of these at home already. It has eight different heads now, but when I got it, it only had four.”

The new attachments include a scourer, a buffer, and a microfibre head, each serving a specific purpose. “The buffer will be great at the end of a shower screen clean, and the scourer will be good for ovens,” she predicted. For Jessica, the affordability of these tools is a significant advantage. “For $39, you can tell your clients to duck to Kmart and get one to maintain between cleans,” she added.

Durability and Practicality

Despite its low price, Jessica attests to the Kmart scrubber’s durability. “I bleach each head after each use,” she said. “The only reason I bought the second one was because I wanted the backup when I hadn’t had time to clean the heads.” She praises the tool’s longevity, noting, “It lasts for hours. I use it every day and just charge it at the end of the week.”

Jessica’s $2 Kmart Solution for Kitchen Drains

In addition to the cleaning brush, Jessica swears by another Kmart find: a $2 flexible drain cleaner. “It’s amazing,” she shared. Unlike traditional drain sticks with bristles, this tool can be wrapped around the hand for easy use. Her TikTok video demonstrating the sink unblocking method has garnered significant attention.

Jessica’s method involves a simple combination of baking soda and vinegar, followed by the use of the Kmart drain cleaner. “There are chemicals that do it, but I keep it simple,” she explained. “A lot of these fancy tools and chemicals overcomplicate things and aren’t needed.”

Jessica’s practical and cost-effective approach to cleaning offers a refreshing perspective in a market saturated with high-priced options. Her reliance on Kmart’s affordable tools not only simplifies her cleaning routine but also provides accessible solutions for her clients.
