network-10-sees-record-streaming-growth-in-2025-first-half

Network 10 has reported significant growth in its streaming services for the first half of the 2025 calendar year, marking a pivotal moment in its digital expansion. The network’s streaming platform, formerly known as 10 Play, has experienced a 16% increase in viewership compared to the same period last year. This surge comes despite the absence of detailed audience share data for the January to June timeframe.

Among the highlights of this growth is the successful launch of “Sam Pang Tonight,” touted as the network’s biggest new show debut since 2022. Additionally, the total TV audience for “10 News” has risen by 12% from 2024, while the Australian Grand Prix 2025 attracted the largest race audience since 2016, with a 34% increase.

Key Programming Successes

Network 10’s programming lineup has played a crucial role in its streaming success. Shows such as “Have You Been Paying Attention?” and “The Cheap Seats” have seen year-on-year increases of 5% and 7%, respectively. “Gogglebox,” in particular, has been a standout, with a remarkable 170% growth in streaming during its first season exclusively on 10.

The network’s sports coverage has also contributed to its growth, with the A-League home and away season up 9% year-on-year. Nickelodeon, part of the network’s multi-channel offerings, has maintained its position as the number one commercial multi-channel for kids.

Daniel Monaghan, SVP Content and Programming at Paramount Australia, stated, “10 is home to the most popular comedies in Australia as well as family-friendly entertainment and fan-favourite reality TV.”

Strategic Content and Audience Engagement

Network 10’s strategic focus on diverse and engaging content has been instrumental in attracting and retaining viewers. The network has capitalized on Australia’s love for comedy and reality TV, with shows like “Have You Been Paying Attention?” and “The Cheap Seats” maintaining strong viewership. The launch of “Sam Pang Tonight” has further bolstered the network’s comedy lineup.

Reality TV formats have also resonated well with audiences, featuring a mix of celebrity antics, survival challenges, and culinary competitions. This diverse programming has not only connected with loyal fans but also engaged new audiences, contributing to the network’s overall growth.

Future Prospects and Upcoming Launches

Looking ahead, Network 10 is poised to continue its momentum with a slate of new and returning shows. The second half of the year will see the premiere of “Survivor: Australia V The World” and the conclusion of “MasterChef Australia: Back To Win.” Other anticipated launches include “The Amazing Race: Celebrity Edition,” “Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly,” and “Talkin’ Bout Your Gen” with a new host, Anne Edmonds.

Additionally, “Ghosts Australia” will make its debut, while fan-favorite “Gogglebox” returns to the lineup. “Sam Pang Tonight” is set for a second season, and the iconic “Big Brother” will return to its original home on Network 10.

According to data from Virtual Australia, OzTAM, and Regional TAM, the network’s total TV reach is calculated nationally, covering the period from January 1 to June 29, 2025.

As Network 10 continues to build on its streaming success, the network’s emphasis on engaging content and strategic programming is likely to sustain its growth trajectory. With a strong lineup of shows and a focus on audience engagement, Network 10 is well-positioned to maintain its upward trajectory in the competitive streaming landscape.
