Iron Maiden has unveiled the eagerly awaited Australasia dates for their “Run For Your Lives” World Tour, marking a monumental occasion for fans across New Zealand and Australia. The legendary heavy metal band will kick off their tour in Auckland on November 7, 2026, at the Spark Arena, followed by performances in major Australian cities including Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.

This announcement comes as Iron Maiden celebrates their 50th anniversary, with the tour representing their eighth visit to Australia. The band first performed in the region in 1982, and since then, they have consistently drawn larger crowds with each return. This time, they will headline outdoor stadiums in Melbourne and Sydney for the first time, promising an unforgettable experience with a state-of-the-art production that complements a setlist spanning their first nine albums.

Tour Highlights and Special Guests

In a special treat for fans, Iron Maiden will be joined by Megadeth as their special guests. Megadeth, who recently topped the charts with their final studio album, will accompany Iron Maiden on this leg of the tour, making it a historic event for heavy metal enthusiasts.

Steve Harris, Iron Maiden’s bassist, expressed his excitement: “We are very excited to be bringing this tour to Australia & New Zealand later this year. And even more so as we are bringing Megadeth with us. Dave and I have been friends for years and we are very proud to have them as our special guests on their last-ever world tour.”

Historical Context and Fan Experience

Iron Maiden’s history in Australasia is rich, with their first visit to New Zealand occurring in 1992 during the “Fear Of The Dark” Tour. This upcoming tour will see them return to Auckland’s Spark Arena, a venue familiar to both the band and their fans.

Rod Smallwood, the band’s manager, highlighted the significance of the tour: “We are delighted to be returning to Australia and New Zealand just two years after our last visit to that part of the world. It’s always a great experience playing to our fans there, and we know they really appreciate seeing us whenever we can visit.”

The tour promises a setlist filled with iconic tracks such as “Hallowed Be Thy Name,” “Run To The Hills,” and “Number Of The Beast,” alongside epic numbers like “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” and “Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son.”

Innovative Concert Experience

Iron Maiden is also encouraging fans to limit phone usage during concerts to enhance the live experience. This initiative was well-received during their European dates, significantly improving the atmosphere at shows.

Additionally, the tour will feature the popular “Eddie’s Pop-up Dive Bar” experience, offering fans a unique blend of Trooper Beer and exclusive tour merchandise. The well-loved Trooper VIP Experience will also be available at all venues.

Industry Impact and Future Plans

Promoter Paul Dainty AO emphasized the tour’s significance: “This will be Iron Maiden’s biggest tour of Australasia ever. Headlining stadiums in Melbourne and Sydney for the first time in their 50-year history is a massive moment. And with Megadeth joining the tour, this is going to be an absolute powerhouse night of metal.”

Following the conclusion of the “Run For Your Lives” World Tour, Iron Maiden plans to take a well-deserved break from touring in 2027, marking the end of an era for the band and their fans.

Tickets for the tour will be available through the Iron Maiden Fan Club pre-sales starting Monday, March 2, with general sales opening on Friday, March 6. No further countries will be added to the tour, making these dates a must-see for fans in Australasia.
