The event kicked off with a 30-minute demo of Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2-exclusive sports game set to launch on February 12. The game introduces a dynamic twist to traditional tennis gameplay with its Fever Shots—special abilities that add unpredictable elements like tornadoes and banana peels to the court. According to Polygon, these features transform the game into a chaotic and entertaining experience.
Expanding the Mario Universe
Following the tennis matches, attendees explored Meetup in Bellabel Park, the latest expansion for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, scheduled for release on March 26 alongside the Switch 2 edition of the game. Unlike traditional level expansions, this addition offers a collection of Mario Party-style minigames, requiring players to collaborate or compete with friends in innovative challenges.
Polygon’s team, however, found the minigames to be a formidable challenge, contrasting their earlier success on the tennis court. This shift in gameplay style highlights Nintendo’s commitment to diversifying the gaming experiences available on the Switch 2.

In addition to new titles, the event showcased a revival of the Virtual Boy, set for release on February 17.
