Draftees Lachy Dovaston and Hugo Mikunda are set to showcase their talents on opposing sides during North Melbourne’s official AFL intraclub match at Arden Street Oval this Friday. The event, part of the club’s annual Fan Day, promises excitement both on and off the field.

Selected with pick No. 16 in November’s AFL Draft, the dynamic Lachy Dovaston will join the blue team, lining up alongside seasoned Roos such as Paul Curtis, Cam Zurhaar, and newly appointed captain Nick Larkey. Meanwhile, Hugo Mikunda, who joined the Kangaroos as pick No. 48, will bolster the orange team, featuring a mix of promising young players including Zac Banch, Zane Duursma, and Cooper Trembath.

Excitement Builds for Fan Day

The intraclub match is a highlight of North Melbourne’s Fan Day, which extends beyond the game itself. Fans attending Arden Street can look forward to player autograph sessions, children’s activities, and photo opportunities with the 2024 and 2025 AFLW premiership cups. The club aims to create an engaging experience for supporters of all ages.

For those unable to attend in person, North Melbourne will live stream the match from 5pm AEDT, available exclusively to Kangaroos members and fans who register online. The broadcast will feature commentary from Channel Seven’s Nigel Carmody and Fox Footy’s Leigh Montagna, with special guest appearances from the Kangaroos.

Match Details and Line-Ups

The intraclub match will follow a format of four 25-minute quarters, with clock stoppages after goals in the second half only. Breaks between quarters are set at six minutes, except for a 15-minute halftime. Additionally, a three-minute scenario will conclude the second and fourth quarters, providing full match timing.
