zeekr-introduces-5-000-factory-bonus-to-boost-australian-ev-sales

Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) brand, has unveiled a series of incentives aimed at boosting sales in Australia, including a factory bonus of up to $5,000 on select models. This strategic move comes as the company approaches the end of its financial year, seeking to solidify its presence in the competitive EV market.

On the company’s official website, Zeekr has detailed the incentives available for its two models currently available in Australia. The Zeekr X SUV, in its all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant, benefits from a $3,500 factory bonus, a 7 kW home charger, and 12 months of unlimited charging on the Evie Networks. Originally priced at $62,900, the incentives reduce the cost to $59,400 before on-road expenses.

Meanwhile, Zeekr’s luxury people mover, the 009, offers an even more substantial factory bonus of $5,000 for both its 6 and 7-seat variants. Initially priced at $135,900 for the base 7-seat model, the incentive lowers the price to $131,900. The 6-seater variant, featuring three rows of two seats, starts at $139,900, with the bonus reducing it to $134,900 before on-road costs.

Zeekr’s Strategic Market Positioning

The introduction of these incentives is part of Zeekr’s broader strategy to capture a larger share of the Australian EV market. The Zeekr X, which has achieved nearly 300 sales since its launch late last year, saw its prices adjusted in April in anticipation of the upcoming 7X SUV launch. The top-spec dual-motor AWD variant of the Zeekr X, capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, was initially priced at $64,900 before being reduced to $62,900.

In comparison, the base single-motor rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variant is priced from $49,900, offering a competitive option in the premium SUV segment. The AWD variant features a 66 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery pack, providing a range of up to 470 km and supporting fast charging at speeds up to 150 kW.

Zeekr 009: A Luxury People Mover

The Zeekr 009, announced in November last year, represents the brand’s foray into the luxury people mover segment. Available in both 7-seat and 6-seat configurations, the vehicle is powered by a dual-motor AWD powertrain producing 450 kW of power. It boasts one of the largest battery packs in any vehicle in Australia, a 116 kWh unit, delivering a WLTP range of 582 km.

Alongside the factory bonus, the 009 also comes with a 7 kW home charger and 12 months of unlimited charging on Evie Networks’ fast-chargers nationwide. The offer on both models is set to end on June 30, 2025, providing a limited window for potential buyers to take advantage of these incentives.

Technical Specifications and Features

The Zeekr X AWD variant includes advanced features such as a 24.3″ Augmented Reality Head-Up Display, intelligent B-pillar display, and a 13-speaker YAMAHA surround stereo system. Safety features are comprehensive, with adaptive cruise control, automated parking assist, and a suite of collision warning and mitigation systems.

The Zeekr 009 continues this trend of luxury and technology, offering a 35.95″ AR Head-Up Display, 30-speaker 3000W YAMAHA surround sound system, and a variety of seating configurations designed for comfort and convenience. The vehicle also includes advanced safety and driver assistance features, ensuring a secure driving experience.

Market Implications and Future Prospects

Zeekr’s aggressive pricing strategy and incentives reflect the increasing competition in the EV market, where brands are vying for consumer attention with attractive offers and technological advancements. The company’s focus on high-performance, luxury EVs positions it well to capture the growing demand for premium electric vehicles in Australia.

As the EV market continues to evolve, Zeekr’s approach may influence other manufacturers to introduce similar incentives to maintain competitiveness. The brand’s future success will likely depend on its ability to innovate and adapt to changing consumer preferences and regulatory landscapes.

The factory bonus initiative not only aims to boost immediate sales but also to establish Zeekr as a formidable player in the global EV market. With the ongoing shift towards sustainable transportation, the company’s commitment to providing high-quality, technologically advanced vehicles could pave the way for long-term growth and success.

As the June 2025 deadline approaches, potential buyers are encouraged to consider these offers, which provide significant savings and added value through complimentary charging and home charging solutions. Zeekr’s efforts to enhance its market presence underscore the dynamic nature of the automotive industry, where innovation and customer engagement remain key drivers of success.
