In a significant reshuffle of executive roles across South Australia, several key appointments have been announced, marking a transformative period for various industries in the region. Solstice Media Welcomes New Financial Leader

Solstice Media has appointed Heath Richards as its new chief financial and commercial officer. With over two decades of experience in executive financial and commercial roles within the media industry, Richards is expected to bring a wealth of knowledge in financial strategy, operational leadership, and business transformation. His previous roles include group operations finance director at the global advertising agency Dentsu and head of commercial roles at Cotton On Group and Target.

“Heath brings deep commercial and financial experience, along with a sharp understanding of how to drive sustainable growth in modern media businesses,” said Solstice Media managing director Paul Hamra.

Breaking New Ground at LLL Australia

Adelaide-based LLL Australia has made history by appointing Karen Pienaar as the company’s first female CEO in its 104-year history. Pienaar, who has served as interim CEO for the past three months, brings extensive experience from the transport, aviation, and not-for-profit sectors. Her previous roles include chief financial officer and interim CEO at Community Business Bureau and head of finance at Heavy Automatics.

“Karen’s vast experience and industry insight across multiple sectors makes her an ideal leader to steer our organization into the future,” stated LLL chair Steve Podlich.

Energy Sector Sees Strategic Changes

Elixir Energy, an Adelaide-based oil and gas exploration company, has appointed Justin Ferravant as chief financial officer and company secretary. Ferravant’s 25 years of experience in the energy and resources sectors, including his recent role as CFO at Strike Energy, positions him well to support Elixir’s strategic project delivery and financial management.

“The appointment of Justin comes at a crucial time in the company’s development,” said non-executive chairman Richard Cottee, highlighting the importance of his background in the commercialisation of the company’s acreage.

New Leadership in Waste Management and Beyond

Martin Borgas has been named CEO of the Southern Region Waste Resource Authority (SRWRA), an organization that has recently expanded its services to include food and green organics waste processing. Borgas, a seasoned local government executive, is expected to enhance SRWRA’s collaboration with its joint venture partners.

“Martin has a track record for driving operational excellence and leading small teams with impact,” commented SRWRA chairman Mark Booth.

Jade Gas Holdings and Ace Strategies Make Key Appointments

Jade Gas Holdings Limited has appointed Chris Newport as managing director, bringing over 40 years of experience in business development and executive roles. His expertise in commercializing energy projects in the Asian region is anticipated to be a significant asset for the company.

Meanwhile, Ace Strategies has welcomed former political adviser Kevin Naughton as strategic counsel. With over 30 years in government relations and journalism, Naughton is expected to enhance the firm’s media communication and strategy capabilities.

Wine Grape Council and Adelaide Fringe Announce New Roles

The Wine Grape Council of SA has appointed Lachlan Allen as interim chair, alongside new regional committee members, to strengthen its advocacy and collaboration efforts. Similarly, Adelaide Fringe has announced new board members, including Jamie Dreckow as treasurer and Matt Tarrant as a board member, to bolster financial oversight and artist-led perspectives.

Racing SA and Don Dunstan Foundation Expand Leadership

Racing SA has appointed Nadia Angelo to its board as a non-executive director. Angelo’s extensive legal and governance experience in the sports and entertainment sectors is expected to be invaluable as Racing SA continues to develop the future of South Australian racing.

The Don Dunstan Foundation has also expanded its committee with the addition of Julia Sumner and Kirstie Parker, both bringing significant experience in business, government, and not-for-profit roles.
