australia-s-first-digital-theme-park-expands-with-dreamrace-launch

Australia’s first fully immersive digital theme park, Dreamskape, is set to expand its offerings with the launch of Dreamrace at District Docklands on Sunday, September 21. This new addition promises to elevate the visitor experience with cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) rides, motion simulators, and interactive adventure games, many of which are exclusive to the Australian market.

Located adjacent to the original Dreamskape augmented reality (AR) entertainment center, Dreamrace introduces a suite of attractions inspired by classic video game concepts. Among these, the Hurricane 360 VR ride stands out as a unique offering. “Dreamrace’s Hurricane 360 VR is the only one of its kind in Australia,” said Joanna Chen, co-founder and president of Dreamskape. “It’s fully rotational with coaster-style seats that spin riders 360 degrees in ultra-realistic VR.”

Innovative Attractions and Exclusive Experiences

Dreamrace is not just about VR rides; it also features exclusive physical gaming experiences like Dream Spartan and Dream Ronin. These experiences combine advanced Dutch gaming software with state-of-the-art Chinese hardware, providing a unique blend of technology and physical activity. “The balance of tech immersion and physical activity means players aren’t just in a headset,” explained Fraser Bell, director of Dreamskape. “They’re running, riding, climbing or spinning while interacting with virtual worlds.”

Spanning 1600 square meters, the combined Dreamskape and Dreamrace venues offer more than 150 games, rides, and challenge zones. This expansive space is designed to be an all-ages, all-weather destination, making it a versatile entertainment option for families and gaming enthusiasts alike.

Award-Winning Design and Future Expansion

The innovative design of Dreamskape and Dreamrace has already garnered significant recognition, winning the 2024–25 Asia Pacific Space Design Award. The interiors were crafted by Brand Space in China, in collaboration with Melbourne architect Justin Lee, showcasing a seamless blend of international design expertise.

Following the success at Docklands, Dreamskape plans to expand further with new locations set to open at Westfield Knox on September 17 and Westfield Southland in December. The company also has plans to extend its reach interstate starting in 2026, reflecting its commitment to bringing immersive digital entertainment to a broader audience.

Visitor Information and Booking Details

As Dreamskape continues to grow, it remains accessible to a wide audience with ticket prices starting at $20 for Dreamrace and $25 for Dreamskape. Visitors can make bookings through the official website at dreamskape.com.au, ensuring they secure a spot to experience the latest in digital theme park entertainment.

This expansion represents a significant step forward in the evolution of entertainment in Australia, blending cutting-edge technology with engaging physical activities.
