call-of-duty-black-ops-7-beta-expands-with-new-open-moshpit-playlist-1

In an exciting development for gamers, Treyarch has introduced a new playlist called ‘Open Moshpit’ to the beta version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. This new mode, now live, brings back the nostalgic feel of old-school matchmaking, minimizing the impact of skill ratings on gameplay.

The announcement comes as Treyarch revealed that the beta now features two distinct playlists: Moshpit and Open Moshpit. The latter includes a variety of classic multiplayer modes such as Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, Hardpoint, and Overload, providing players with a diverse and engaging experience.

New Features and Updates

Alongside the introduction of Open Moshpit, Treyarch has also shared patch notes detailing other additions. These include the Open Hardcore Moshpit and Open Search and Destroy modes, both utilizing the low-skill matchmaking system. The former enables hardcore rules, while the latter focuses on the strategic Search and Destroy matches.

A new map, Blackheart, has been added to the rotation, joining existing maps like The Forge, Cortex, Exposure, and Imprint. In response to player feedback, the beta’s level cap has been increased from 20 to 30, allowing for more extensive exploration and progression.

Addressing Weapon Balance and Player Feedback

Treyarch has actively engaged with the community to address weapon balance issues. Notably, adjustments have been made to the Dravec 45 and M8A1. According to the developer, “We currently see these weapons well ahead of the pack in our TTK data, and they also have very high usage,” leading to updates in their time-to-kill stats and range.

The Zombies Survival mode, a fan favorite, has been extended due to positive feedback. Additionally, a Zombies Training Course has been introduced for newcomers, offering a chance to learn the basics of survival in this challenging mode.

Community Reception and Player Engagement

Despite the new content, the beta has not attracted as many players as anticipated. According to SteamDB, Black Ops 7 reached a 24-hour peak of 75,222 players, with an all-time high of 377,211. On Twitch, the game currently maintains around 16,300 viewers, reflecting a moderate level of interest.

“The game hit a 24-hour peak of 75,222 players, with an all-time high of 377,211,” according to SteamDB.

In a recent update, a Treyarch developer mentioned that the studio declined several “big brand” collaborations, choosing to focus on delivering a more authentic gaming experience.

Looking Ahead

As the beta continues to evolve, players and developers alike are eager to see how these updates will impact the overall gaming experience. With the official release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 scheduled for November 14, 2025, on multiple platforms including PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, anticipation is building for what the full game will offer.

Meanwhile, the gaming community remains engaged, providing valuable feedback that Treyarch appears committed to incorporating into the game’s development. As the release date approaches, both fans and critics will be watching closely to see how Black Ops 7 performs in the competitive landscape of first-person shooters.
